Radio Buncefield will be online via myradiostream, and at 108Mz FM at Le Monte-en-l’air Bookstore, 2 Rue de la Mare, 75020 Paris, France, from 6pm – 10pm each night from 12th November – 16th November 2015.
We will be broadcasting encoded images from a selection of photo books to be promoted by Punto de Fuga at their launch event which takes place at the bookstore over the 5 days of of Paris Photo. Each image is from one the books featured on the night, and will be encoded pixel by pixel into spoken word, to be read online over FM radio on 108MHz over the course of the evening.
If you are attending the event, make sure to bring an FM radio receiver to hear the transmission. myradiostream does not work on mobile phones, so you will need to dig out that old transistor radio and taking it along, or find a phone with a built in FM radio – and don’t forget the headphones. The broadcast can only be received within about a 15metre radius of the transmitter.
If you have the patience, you can sit and transcribe the numbers and recompose the image. Each broadcast is timed to 6 hours, so take a great deal of paper and lots of pens in case the ink runs out.
I will update the blog to indicate which images were chosen and why during the event.
